Mini Cake Plates Craft

I wanted to share my Mini Cake Plates

I looked at several blogs to get this idea. I first saw the idea on Faith's blog and she listed other blogs for ideas. My knobs on the top are not glued on yet. I used Gorilla glue for gluing Dollar Tree items together and I didn't like the yellow color showing through, although it glues very well, so I am going to purchase the Dollar Tree items again and try another glue. The glass knobs are used on furniture and are very pretty. I will show again when I have the completed product and try to get the detail of the knobs.

  1. That's pretty cool. I love how you're adding the knob to the tob! Cool idea! :o) I was thinking about how the glue shows through and you could always place a small paper doily on top of the plate. Don't glue it of course, just lay it in there. Just an idea though.

  2. Yes, I thought I would keep these for myself and make a couple more to give away as gifts that have a clear glue.

Anyone that has any suggestions for a strong permanent glue for the glass that is clear would be appreciated. It also needs to be cheap.:)

  4. Wow, you made those??? You are so clever!

You should display something in them and join in the fun at Marty's cloche party. If you check out my blog I have joined in and the link is there for Marty's blog.

    Best wishes,
    Natasha.

  5. The glass knobs idea came from my work place. I work in the office of specialty furniture. We have recently been clearing out old stuff. One line has beautiful dressers with mirrored fronts and glass knobs. We had some odd samples left over. When I picked up the pieces at Dollar Tree and got them home I thought they needed a cute handle like the big sized cake plates. Natasha I will look for at your blog soon.

  7. Thanks Faith, what do you use for a clear glue? Lori had some tube of something that dried clear but I am a little afraid of it being strong enough to hold long term.
